So one of my Hunter friends invited me to go experience some live music last night, for this band Urban Blight. I’ll admit to being a bit skeptical, people want me to check out their boyfriend’s band, this other friend’s band, etc etc, all the time. But I went. Now, I like her boyfriend, Nelson, the lead singer and one of the horns to boot, but d@mn me if I had no idea how f00kin’ talented he was! The band was aMAZing. Real funky, groovy, ska-swingy, big sweaty rock-you-in-your bones stuff. I gush, I gush, but it really was that good.
I must have CDs.
There are some tracks up on their circa-1995 web site (linked above), but we’ll excuse that because that’s about when their last album was put out.
I took a few hundred pics, and I’ll post up when they’re available!
GO listen to Urban Blight NOW.
This just in from Danny Boy … You may have heard that KTM, a wonderful moto manufacturer out of Austria, has stretched their engineering into the cutting-edge field of sliced baked good carbonization. So the other manufacturers would never let themselves be outdone … what if they all made their own contraptions? I’ll tell you, hilarity ensues.

Ach, well, I suxx0rs and all that … ‘pologies for not posting. Here’s what’s going on.
Last weekend I went back to PA, always good to go back there … Jeff and I put on the new bike rack (love it!) so I can actually take two bicycles somewhere on the Escape. We had a planning meeting for the Race Across America; he and I and others are crew for Doug Levy, a solo rider. We’re getting very, very close to the start of that particular adventure! Then we went out and saw Iron Man at a local multiplex (sadly, no DLP). AMAZING movie. Go see it. Now. OR see it again if you’ve been already. Wow, all comic book movies should be this good …
Sunday was spent with Mom and her Jeff, as it was Mother’s Day. We went to the Collegeville Inn buffet, and watched Mom play with the animals in the petting zoo afterwards. She was very excited because she had never held a snake before. Irony/jokes/creepy messages about this will all go do /dev/null.
I’m testing out Twitter, in hopes that it might be useful on the upcoming RAAM event. I an send wee text updates via SMS about where we are and what we’re doing, and it will update my facebook page as well as a badge on my blog (I’m about to set it up, not sure about where to put it).
